a wave goodbye to the fringe

I just thought I would do a quick message from the end of the festival… the last of our leeds based shows closed up yesterday (after wonderful runs), and all of the venues are starting to come down and be returned to what they function as in real life; the amount of heavy lifting is quite unreal (my arms hurt. like really hurt.) and the city feels really eerie without its crowds and the flyerers and the dismantling of the giant purple cow. It’s been an absolutely amazing month for all of the leeds contingency up here as far as i can tell, although i believe special mention has to go to mr ben luke, who got hit on by simon amstell. highlight. that’s all really, i have to go to sleep so i can successfully lift steel deck bright and early in the morning – lots of love from the now only half remaining fringe and pleasance xxx

  • Site AdminIs it me, or does Simon Amstell bare more than a passing resemblance to the very person he was hitting on? Discuss.September 2, 2009 – 10:44 am

  • Ben LukeI think there was an extreme narccicistic tendancy on his part. My arms ache too, and putting 27 venues into trucks has taken it all out of me. I want to do it again. Facial inflamation and everything.September 7, 2009 – 3:46 pm
